AT&T Mobile Phone Plans Change all the time, Check Your Last Bill NOW!

The mobile marketplace has changed drastically in the last year. Did you know that rate plans for cell phones change all the time? For example AT&T has a  700, 1400 , 2100 and unlimited calling plans. You would be surprised how many people have unlimited calling plans that don’t really need them.  Check your last bill and see what your usage pattern is. It will only take about 5 minutes to figure out if you are overpaying or not. One thing to keep in mind is that even if it looks like you are using a LOT of minutes, you could actually reduce them.

AT&T Now has Unlimited Calling to Any Cell Phone Carrier

A very little used feature of most people’s plan is adding the favorite people that you call the most. You would be surprised how many less minutes you use, just by changing this one feature on your account online. Also AT&T started having a great promotion where if you have unlimited texting you also have unlimited calls to ANY CELL PHONE in the united states. That means that it doesn’t matter what provider they have. If you call a lot of people that have Verizon, you may be using a lot of minutes. BUT if you call customer service and request to be moved to the newer messaging plan, your price of $30 stays the same, BUT now you have unlimited calls to any cell phone company. Watch your usage the next 2 months and see if you could move down to a lower minute plan. This could save you between $20-$40 each month, depending on your current plan.

Save Money On Your Data Usage By using WIFI and Tracking Usage

Another way to save money is to check your data usage if you have a smart phone. A LOT of people have been grandfathered in to unlimited data and use less than 200 megabytes per month. The 200 MB package costs $15, you could actually be saving $15  a month! If you are a heavier user, I would still check your data, because if you are consistently under 2 GB or 2048 MB and you have the unlimited data plan you could actually save $5 a month by being on the right plan. A good way to reduce data usage is to use wifi at home, work, or school. This can help you reduce your data usage and allow you to save big money. Only about 5% of users in the AT&T network use over 2 GB, so it is highly likely that you are a part of the 95%. If you stream video or use Pandora a lot, I would keep the unlimited plan, as overages can really add up quick!

AT&T Provides Mobile Phone Plan Discounts

There are 2 main ways to get a monthly discount on your cell phone bill. The first one is if you have a business, you can apply for a business discount of up to 8%, this also means you get activation fees waived ($36) on new lines, instant rebate and much more. All you need to do to take advantage of this is have 5 lines and a TAX id, that’s it! A second way to get a discount on your bill is from the company you work for. A lot of government employees qualify for an employee discount of up to 15% and don’t even know it. A lot of companies have a discount, and employees may not even know it. If you have an extra 2 minutes, I would call your local AT&T store and ask ” does (company you work for) qualify for a FAN discount?” those simple words can mean saving big bucks on your bill.
